When Aug. 22-24; Friday 6:30-9:30 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Where Seattle, WA Who should attend This retreat is for writers looking to continue developing one specific mid-length or long-form piece (novel, novella, memoir, book of poetry, creative non-fiction). We welcome writers, from beginners to seasoned authors, at all stages of their journey. Cost $225 before July 31; $299 after PAYMENT should be made via Venmo: @cherylmurfin What to expect: Two certified facilitators 1 simple dinner on Friday night 2 continental breakfasts A community of up to 10 writers 1 silent walk Writing sessions 2 relaxing experiences of Yoga Nidra as an entryway to writing 2 BYOB lunch conversations (or an hour break for those who'd rather have that) And all the coffee, tea, or seltzer you can down What we hope to achieve: We all get stuck working on a mid-to-long piece of writing (generally, this means 50+ pages). The start is a breeze; we go with it for a while, and then, without explanation, writer's block steps in, and the story sputters; we wonder if it will come back. The answer is it will, with a little gentle coaxing. In this retreat, you'll move your project forward using creative exercises, discussions of our work, ideas from other writers, and a valuable method of interrogating the story. At the same time, we'll enjoy moments of relaxation aimed at nudging the creative inside you. \ **NOTE: This is not an in-residence retreat. Participants will need to secure accommodations for the weekend. We are located in the Morgan Junction area of West Seattle.
